Liberace Tribute Show

Artist began taking piano lessons at the ripe old age of five.  It wasn’t much later that artist began doing stock and regional theater as a child performer in shows like “The Sound Of Music”, “Life With Father” and “The Music Man”.  Doing professional musical theater in his teens, he was thrust into the orchestra pit as an emergency replacement to conduct Dorothy Collins and her husband Ron Holgate in their tour of “Sound Of Music”.  This led to work as a choral master, rehearsal pianist, assistant conducting and finally resident conductor at the Goodman Theater in Chicago where he was in the pit for the revivals of “Pal Joey” and “The Boys From Syracuse” among others. 

His favorite production was the National Tour of “Dames At Sea” where he conducted Broadway legend, Bernadette Peters. His career includes conducting for a host of stage and screen greats such as Rosemary Clooney, Ann Sothern, Patrice Munsel, Peter Palmer, Carol Channing, Tom Poston, Harve Presnell, Alan Jones, Patricia Morrison and Vivian Blaine to name just a few.  A major career change took him to Nevada working as a production singer in the world’s largest show on the world’s largest stage (three football fields large).  The show was Hello, Hollywood, Hello playing in the Ziegfeld Theater at the M.G.M. Grand Reno. 

As Las Vegas was now on the horizon, it wasn’t long before Mr. Wagner set his sights on this world-class destination.  As a matter of sheer coincidence, his first job in Vegas was working for the real Liberace as a pianist and singer in the lounge of Liberace’s incredible restaurant and club, The Tivoli Gardens.  This association was truly prescient as Mr. Wagner continued his tribute to this great showman by auditioning and being hired by John Stuart and Legends In Concert where he faithfully performed for well over twenty years.  With Legends In Concert, Artist was part of multiple companies that opened new venues for Legends around America.   

From San Francisco to Seattle, Chicago, Branson, Myrtle Beach and Atlantic City; Legends fame spread during his tenure.  Artist was also featured in the original Broadway cast of Legends and has many wonderful memoires of New York.  Today Mr. Wagner brings Liberace back to life at venues and theaters all across America affording new generations the opportunity to see what this incomparable showman, Liberace, was all about.

A child prodigy and the first generation son of working class immigrants, Liberace's career spanned four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. At the height of his fame from the 1950s to the 1970s, Liberace was the highest-paid entertainer in the world, with established residencies in Las Vegas, and an international touring schedule. Liberace embraced a lifestyle of flamboyant excess both on and off stage, acquiring the sobriquet "Mr. Showmanship". Liberace was recognized during his career with two Emmy Awards, six gold albums and two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
